Sam Eastmond is an improvising trumpeter and composer from London, England known for his expansive large ensemble projects which span vast and eclectic swathes of stylistic inspiration.

His association with NYC composer John Zorn to date spans four records over a decade. Eastmond is the only artist Zorn has asked to arrange and record volumes in MASADA Book Two, Book Three, and his Bagatelles series. As well as commissioning Eastmond’s own compositions for recording and release.

Alongside his 2019 PRS Foundation commissioned, 2020 IVOR NOVELLO award nominated work with his big band project the the Spike Orchestra, his current projects include his Bagatelles band performing  his acclaimed arrangements of Zorn’s Bagatelles, leading and curating the Composers Workshop Big Band, and playing with TORU, a freely improvised group who release an album of works every month.
